Summary: Cooking at home is my new favorite ritual, and Made In’s Stainless Steel and CeramiClad cookware made the transition effortless. After years of relying on takeout and trendy but short-lived pans, I was blown away by the Made In’s craftsmanship, nontoxic standards, and thoughtful design. Hosting friends for a dinner party with Made In cookware reminded me how good it feels to cook, connect, and create memories in my own kitchen.

What I Love:

 • Premium materials, pro-level performance: Made In’s Stainless Steel and CeramiClad lines are crafted in Italy and the USA using 5-ply stainless steel for even heating, incredible heat retention, and long-term durability.
 • Safe, non-toxic cookware: All pieces are third-party tested and made without PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, Lead, Cadmium, or BPA, a huge plus if you care about clean cooking.
 • Versatile and oven-safe: Stainless Clad pans can handle up to 800°F, and the CeramiClad non-stick up to 550°F, meaning you can easily go from stovetop to oven.
 • Beautiful design, built to last: The Limited Edition collection with Antique Brass Handles adds a timeless, elevated touch — equal parts functional and display-worthy. (And perfect for holiday gifting!)

Things To Note:

 • Care and maintenance: The stainless pieces are dishwasher-safe and clean up beautifully. Note that the CeramiClad pans are best washed by hand and stored carefully to prevent surface chips.
 • Investment worth making: With prices ranging from $349 to $799, these sets aren’t cheap, but their quality, longevity, and performance easily justify the cost — especially if you’re replacing cheaper pans every year.

It seems like everyone these days has some version of the same three goals: Be healthy, save money, and get offline. Funny enough, the answer to all three might just be hiding where we least expect: In our pots and pans.

I’ll admit, takeout has been my default these past few years. Living in LA, I’m spoiled with “healthy” options on every corner, but I still find myself wondering what’s actually in the food. And I honestly just feel better when I’m eating simple, home-cooked meals — fewer ingredients, less oil, no mystery sauces.

“I honestly just feel better when I’m eating simple, home-cooked meals — fewer ingredients, less oil, no mystery sauces.”

The money part doesn’t hurt either. Let’s be real: An Erewhon combo plate (one piece of salmon and two veggie sides) will now set you back around $38. I know…

So, cooking at home has been on my short list for a while — which is why I jumped at the chance to try out Made In Cookware.

I wouldn’t call myself a great cook (or a bad one either). I know how to follow recipes and can usually throw something together from the fridge. But getting closer to home-chef status takes the right mix of ingredients, creativity, time, skill — and, of course, cookware. Made In is known as “the cookware chefs actually use,” so it feels good to start my at-home cooking era with a solid foundation.

“Getting closer to home-chef status takes the right mix of ingredients, creativity, time, skill — and, of course, cookware.”

As a millennial woman, I’m constantly being targeted with “cute” pans that look great on my stove but don’t always hold up in the kitchen. That’s why I love that Made In isn’t just beautiful — it’s the real deal. Expertly crafted in the USA and Europe, made with the best raw materials, tested in world-class kitchens, and designed for actual cooking, not just the aesthetic. They also meet the world’s highest food safety and manufacturing standards… and in a world full of suspicious “non-stick,” that’s pretty important to me.

What really sets Made In apart is how open they are about their process, from their 100-year-old, family-owned roots in Boston to the factories they partner with across the U.S. and Europe. You can actually trace the origin of each piece and see the care that goes into it. There’s no influencer smoke and mirrors, no hidden endorsement deals. Just chefs and home cooks who genuinely use and love the products.

In a cookware world that often feels a little too much like Teflon — slick, shiny, and hard to trust — Made In’s transparency and craftsmanship truly stand out.

Three pans on a stovetop: one with cooked salmon fillets in herbs, one with sautéed zucchini and corn, and one with cooked pasta.
For an aspiring home chef, it was easy to see why Made In is the preferred brand for professional chefs.

Besides everyday cooking, my second culinary focus is being able to cook for friends. Since moving into my two-bedroom house a few years ago, it’s felt like I’m running a hotel (in the best, most fun way, of course). There’s almost always someone staying in the second bedroom, and over time, hosting has become one of my favorite parts of life. In a world full of screens, constant notifications, and endless news, getting together with friends feels like a little reset — a chance to be present, share some laughs, and just enjoy the moment.

“In a world full of screens, constant notifications, and endless news, getting together with friends feels like a little reset.”

The one challenge? I didn’t have enough cookware to actually make a meal for more than two people. So when I discovered Made In’s cookware sets, I knew they were the missing piece, the answer to finally being able to host the dinner parties I’d been dreaming about.

For this review, I tested 2 collections, and I’ve been cooking with these pieces for about 6 weeks now:

So let’s get into the review!

Shipping and delivery

My new cookware showed up fast, packed in sleek, branded boxes that were 100% recyclable and super easy to break down. Inside, everything was thoughtfully arranged — pans and lids snug in layered cardboard with clever cutouts to keep them protected. It felt like unboxing a gift (and would make an amazing one, too).

My dinner party dreams with The Limited Edition Stainless Clad Collection

The day my new cookware arrived, I had two guests staying with me, my besties Deb and Andrew, which felt like the perfect excuse to christen my new cookware with an impromptu dinner party.

After unboxing, we headed to McCall’s — one of my favorite neighborhood markets in LA — to grab ingredients for two dishes: Pan-Seared Halibut and Zucchini Ricotta Summer Pasta with Peas. By the time we got home, a few more friends had RSVP’d via text, so dinner for three quickly turned into dinner for six.

“I now get why chefs swear by these pieces.”

We put the new cookware to the test: The 2 QT Stainless Clad Saucepan, the 8 QT Stainless Clad Stock Pot, and the 10″ Stainless Clad Frying Pan. I now get why chefs swear by these pieces. Made In’s Stainless Clad line is completely coating-free and non-reactive, meaning zero leaching of metals or chemicals into your food.

Every piece is third-party tested by Light Labs and made without PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, Lead, Cadmium, or BPA, which made me feel even better about cooking for friends.

Each pan is crafted in Italy using premium 5-ply stainless steel — five layers that create incredible heat retention, even heating, and easy temperature control. The handles stayed cool on the stovetop and felt balanced in my hand. The walls are curved for deeper searing and easier flipping, and that rolled rim made pouring sauces effortless. Every piece can go from stovetop to oven up to 800 degrees.

“Each pan is crafted in Italy using premium 5-ply stainless steel — five layers that create incredible heat retention, even heating, and easy temperature control.”

I opted for the collection with Antique Brass Finished Handles, which adds a beautiful, elevated touch to my kitchen. I love pieces that feel like timeless classics rather than trends.

We followed a few of Made In’s cooking tips, which really helped us get the best results from each pan. First, in the 2 QT Saucepan, we preheated the pan for a couple of minutes before adding oil, then sautéed garlic until fragrant. We tossed in peas, zucchini, and a little corn — everything cooked evenly without sticking or scorching. Finally, we stirred in marinated feta to create a light, creamy sauce that coated the pasta beautifully.

Next, the 8 QT Stock Pot, we boiled a big pot of water for fresh pasta. The water came to a boil quickly, and the pasta cooked perfectly in just 3 minutes. We drained it, then poured it right back into the stock pot to eventually toss with the sauteed veggies, feta, and lemon zest, before serving straight from the stove.

Finally, for the halibut, we used the 10″ Frying Pan. Following Made In’s directions, we preheated the pan, added a drizzle of oil, then placed the fish — patted dry and seasoned simply with salt and pepper — into the pan. A few minutes on each side gave us that perfect golden crust, and a quick butter baste with lemon and thyme made it smell (and taste) heavenly. The fish was tender on the inside, crisp on the outside — even Andrew, who never eats fish, asked for seconds. That alone speaks volumes about the power of good ingredients and great cookware.

“A few minutes on each side gave us that perfect golden crust, and a quick butter baste with lemon and thyme made it smell (and taste) heavenly.”

We plated the meal with a side salad, and my friends — also self-proclaimed takeout people — were thrilled to have a home-cooked dinner. We lit candles, ate off my prized china collection (a birthday gift from Deb), and laughed while telling stories about our week.

After dinner, we gave everything a quick wash with warm water and popped the pans in the dishwasher. I love that they’re dishwasher-safe! The best part? Going to bed with no dirty dishes in the sink.

Every day made easy with CeramiClad™ Non Stick Frying Pan Set

Back to regularly scheduled eating — every morning, I make eggs. Usually with some sautéed veggies, plus a side of sauerkraut, avocado, and turkey sausage. As a single person, the CeramiClad 8” Frying Pan is the quickest way to cook breakfast and the perfect size for two eggs. Before, I only had a 10” pan, so I love the ease and control of this smaller size.

“As a single person, the CeramiClad 8” Frying Pan is the quickest way to cook breakfast and the perfect size for two eggs.”

Recently, my go-to breakfast has been thinly sliced zucchini, crisped in a little olive oil, with two sunny-side-up eggs cooked right on top. When the whites are mostly set, I add a splash of water and cover the pan with my 8” Stainless Steel lid to let the steam finish them off. The result? Perfect eggs with jammy yolks and golden zucchini underneath.

If you’re a lazy cook like me, non-stick is essential for quick, everyday meals — but some coatings can be toxic and leach into your food. Made In’s pans don’t. The CeramiClad collection pairs their award-winning 5-ply Stainless Clad base with a high-performance, American-made non-stick ceramic for a clean-eating, even-heating pan you can rely on daily.

The pans are handcrafted in the USA, and the handles stay cool on the stovetop while feeling balanced and ergonomic. The stainless steel base works on all cooktops — gas, electric, or induction — and they’re oven-safe up to 550°F. Like all Made In cookware, every piece is third-party tested and made without PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, Lead, Cadmium, or BPA.

And while the 8” pan has become my weekday go-to, I already have big plans for the larger sizes. I’m staying in LA for Thanksgiving this year, and one of my best friends (also named Grace!) will be in town for a month. We’re planning a pancake Friendsgiving, and I can’t wait to see how my favorite gluten-free pancake mix from Honey Hi x CAP Beauty turns out on the non-stick pans.

“The pans are handcrafted in the USA, and the handles stay cool on the stovetop while feeling balanced and ergonomic.”

These pans need to be hand-washed to maintain their non-stick nature, but they are easy to clean and get food off of, so I don’t mind. I have noticed a few tiny chips in the non-stick from stacking the pans, but nothing that affects my cooking! (And Made In does sell pan protectors to prevent this. They’ve thought of everything.)

Is Made In worth the investment?

When it comes to buying cookware sets, you’re going to spend more upfront. Think of it as investing in your kitchen and in the way you cook. But here’s the thing: If you go for high-quality pieces, you won’t have to keep replacing them every year, which actually saves you money in the long run. I’ve learned this the hard way. Over the past four years, I’ve gone through at least four of those trendy, colorful non-stick pans… ringing up around $150 each. One by one, the non-stick wore off, and then I was back to square one.

“If you go for high-quality pieces, you won’t have to keep replacing them every year, which actually saves you money in the long run.”

Made In’s Limited Edition Stainless Clad Collection ($799) gives you a complete kitchen foundation: Saucepans, stock pots, and frying pans designed to be used for years, not replaced every season. If you prefer non-stick, the CeramiClad Non-Stick Frying Pan Set ($349) offers the same durability with a safer, long-lasting ceramic coating.

For me, investing in these sets isn’t just about the cookware itself. It’s about setting up a kitchen I can rely on, whether I’m cooking for one or hosting friends. Paying more up front means fewer replacements, better food, and saving money and time on replacements.

In the end, Made In made cooking easier for me — and more fun. That first dinner party set the tone, turning my cookware into keepsakes tied to memories. It’s safe to say my home-cooking era is officially underway. 👩‍🍳

We’ve researched and tested dozens of natural probiotics — these are our top ten picks made with clean and organic ingredients for maximum benefit.

Probiotics are living organisms that are good for you (yes, they exist!) — think healthy bacteria, yeast, and spores. Once ingested, probiotic strains help restore your gut health, heighten immunity, reduce inflammation and allergies, and even support your mood.

Why should you look for natural and organic probiotics?

Natural and organic probiotics offer numerous benefits that conventional probiotics miss out on. They are free from harmful chemicals like pesticides, GMOs, and synthetics. Organic farming practices also contribute to a healthier soil ecosystem and higher quality ingredients that can be used in probiotic formulas to boost their benefits (think prebiotic fiber from organic fruits). Organic probiotics are also more sustainable, as less synthetics and better biodiversity in farming practices minimize adverse impacts on our environment.

As with any ingestible supplement, knowing what to look for in a healthy, effective probiotic is important. According to both the Cleveland Clinic and WebMD, you want to search for quality brand names. You’ll also want to look for a probiotic with one billion or more colony-forming units (CFUs) or active fluorescent units (AFUs), and check that it aligns with your preferred dosage and form (consider capsules, gummies, or powder).

We’ve found ten of the best and most trusted natural probiotics out there, ranging from USDA certified organic formulas for immunity, to vegan options for gut health and digestion, to natural capsules for pregnancy or vaginal health. We also recommend chatting with your doctor for personalized suggestions or before starting any new supplement. If you have a probiotic you already love, we’d love to hear in the comments below!

Our criteria:

 • NATURAL, HIGH-QUALITY INGREDIENTS | Each of these probiotics is made from natural ingredients that are third-party tested and highly effective.
 • AFFORDABILITY | We’ve offered a variety of choices for probiotics at various price points, prioritizing budget-friendly options.
 • ACTIVE FLUORESCENT UNITS (AFU) | Each of these brands provides detailed information on their CFU/AFU count, ensuring plenty of gut-friendly microorganisms are reaching your colon, where they’ll go to work!

We’ve taken clean supplements that support women’s health for years. Here are our favorite vaginal probiotics for addressing odor, discomfort, and pH balance.

As the voice for women’s healthcare becomes deservedly louder, vaginal health should be at the forefront of the conversation. Many women are faced daily with unpleasant and often life-disrupting symptoms that could be addressed. First, let’s get into a bit of vagina 101: Although the gut microbiome gets most of the attention, the vagina has one all of its own. It’s a kingdom of billions of microbes, and its state of well-being determines a women’s vaginal, gynecological, and urogenital health.

“Many women are faced daily with unpleasant and often life-disrupting symptoms that could be addressed.”

Just like the gut microbiome, the vaginal ecosystem fosters a delicate balance of these microbes. And also, like the gut, in order to remain healthy and resilient to problematic pathogens, the vaginal microbiome should be dominated by healthy, helpful bacteria and other microbes, which all happen to prefer a slightly acidic pH. Disruptions in vaginal health can be caused or compounded by stress, hormonal changes, and antibiotic use. An imbalance causes vaginal dysbiosis and negatively affects vaginal pH inviting more of the unfriendlies to take charge. Once those good bacteria are outnumbered, we are faced with numerous uncomfortable issues like malodor, irritation, bacterial vaginosis, yeast infections, and more. So, how do we ensure our lady parts stay happy, healthy, and balanced?

One way is with science-backed vaginal probiotics proven to be specifically beneficial to the vaginal microbiota. Although there are some crossover benefits of taking probiotics geared toward gut health, as mentioned, our vaginal ecosystem is unique in comparison and should be treated as such. Populating the vaginal barrier with beneficial probiotic strains helps prevent infection and combat symptoms. In addition, vaginal probiotics can help support fertility and pregnancy, and they may even help with symptoms that accompany perimenopause and menopause.

What should you look for in a good vaginal probiotic?

Probiotics that contain Lactobacillus strains (L. acidophilus, L. rhamnosus, L. reuteri, L. crispatus, L. gasseri, and Bifidobacterium lactis, etc.) are proven to be most effective at fortifying the vaginal microbiome. These strains work their magic by adhering to the vaginal lining and preventing pathogenic colonization. They also produce lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide to help maintain an optimal, slightly acidic pH. Most vaginal probiotics come in capsule form and should be taken regularly over time to allow for a true colonization effect. However, one option we include in our guide delivers a dose of beneficial bacteria straight to the source. When choosing a vaginal probiotic capsule, look for brands that are shelf stable or proven to survive the harsh digestive system so they can deliver that dose of beneficial bugs where they need to be. Worth noting: Some vaginal probiotics also contain ingredients to aid in the health of the urinary tract or are considered synbiotics — meaning they provide prebiotics to help feed the probiotics. We are all for anything that provides more comprehensive support to women’s health and wellness.

Vegan

Best For | Rapid results
Functional Ingredients | 3 studied strains of L. crispatus
Prices Starting At | $99 for the 2-month starter kit, then $40/month after

Seed’s VS-01 is the first vaginal probiotic suppository clinically validated for effectiveness. VS-01 was the result of Dr. Jaques Ravel’s long-time research, which discovered that three specific strains of L. crispatus provide some of the most potent defenses against the bad guys within the vaginal microbiota. Every woman who participated in the VS-01 trial saw a regulated vaginal pH. VS-01 uses a two-phase process that safely interacts with epithelial cells in the vagina — first to colonize it with L. crispatus, then to maintain it for ongoing resiliency. The slow-release delivery technology of the VS-01 vaginal suppository is designed to maximize exposure to the vaginal wall and was tested for biocompatibility with the vaginal environment. Note that VS-01 should not be started or used during menstruation!

We’ve tested dozens of natural and clean protein powders for women. These are our top picks for options that are pregnancy-safe with clean ingredients, low/no sugar, and quality protein.

Protein supports baby’s growth during pregnancy, but getting the recommended amount each day is much easier said than done. If your stomach is only tolerating carbs due to first-trimester nausea, or you’re simply craving anything else, hitting the recommended 71 grams per day is a challenge. For many parents-to-be, there’s a secret weapon hidden in their kitchen cabinets: prenatal and pregnancy-safe protein powder.

“Protein is a key macronutrient that provides the building blocks that are essential for tissue and organ development,” explains Alex Robles, MD, an OBGYN at the Columbia University Fertility Center. “As such, it helps with fetal growth, placental development, and maternal tissue expansion.”

Mixed into smoothies or baked into an afternoon treat, protein powder is a simple (and often sweet!) ingredient added to hit those macros. But as with most products you use during pregnancy, you want to make sure it’s safe for both you and your growing baby. To take the guesswork out of your process, we’ve hand-selected six protein powders that are expert-approved and safe for pregnancy and postpartum.

Why are clean, tested protein powders important?

“Some protein powders have been found to contain heavy metals or other contaminants, which may pose potential risks to fetal neurodevelopment,” warns Dr. Robles. “Using products that are third-party tested may help reduce this risk.”

It’s virtually impossible to avoid these, but there are extra steps brands can take to limit your exposure, explains Lindsay Dahl, the Chief Impact Officer at Ritual, consumer safety and policy expert, author of “Cleaning House: The Fight to Rid our Homes of Toxic Chemicals.” “Brands should work hard to source their ingredients from places with reduced risks and test their products carefully.”

What should you look for in a protein powder for pregnancy?

Pregnant individuals should seek out protein powders with a limited number of ingredients and an adequate amount of protein, says Dr. Robles. Pregnancy-safe protein powder should also come without excessive added sugars, caffeine, stimulants, and unnecessary herbal ingredients that aren’t backed by safety data for pregnancy. Dahl adds that chocolate protein powder is at a higher risk for heavy metal contamination, given the presence of lead in cocoa. She recommends sticking with flavors like vanilla, which is the reason why that’s the only flavor offered by Ritual.

“A brand claiming to be ‘clean’ is not enough,” Dahl says. “What do they mean by clean? Brands must clearly define this on their website and implement safety sourcing practices, raw material and finished good testing. Look for certifications, like Clean Label Project, which can verify this information. And brands that receive their Purity Award are the best of the best.”

Dr. Robles also reminds us that protein powders are particularly useful when nausea or food aversions kick in, but they are a supplement. “They should complement and not replace a balanced, whole-food-based diet,” he says.

Our criteria:

Our editors have personally tested and researched clean protein powders, as well as the best prenatals and pregnancy supplements on the market. For this guide, we chose science-backed natural and nontoxic formulations that are safe for those who are prenatal or pregnant. We update this list regularly with emerging favorites that meet the criteria below.

 • CLEAN INGREDIENTS | All of the options on this list are free of additives, fillers, and harmful ingredients. These protein powders are natural and contain wholesome, organic ingredients that nourish the body.
 • SCIENCE-BACKED | These options are all formulated to be safe for those who are prenatal and pregnant. We’ve prioritized brands that work with clinicians to create safe and supportive protein powders.
 • LOW OR NO SUGAR | Avoiding unnecessary sugar is a must, and we’ve made sure each of these natural protein powder brands contains low or no sugar, and if sweetened, uses healthy alternatives like organic stevia and monk fruit.
 • TASTE | We’ve tested all of the brands on this list make sure they taste delicious and you actually want to drink them!

Protein powder isn’t the only parent-recommended product for pregnancy. Check out our favorite organic prenatals for women and men.

Best For | Traceable ingredients
Clean Ingredients | Organic pea protein, vanilla bean extract, choline, L-methionine
Protein per serving | 20 g
Prices starting at | $44 for 15 servings

Ritual started with a very relatable experience for anyone seeking out pregnancy-safe protein powder: CEO and founder Katerina Schneider was pregnant and felt compelled to eliminate any unsafe ingredients from her home — down to her cleaning supplies and deodorant. While weighing her prenatal vitamin options, she struggled to find one she could trust. So, she created her own. Since 2015, the line has expanded to include the Daily Shake. Made for pregnancy and postpartum, the vanilla protein powder has 20 grams of protein per serving and 0 grams of sugar. The product is third-party tested for heavy metals and microbes, and it’s earned the Clean Label Project Purity Award. The organic regenerative peas found in the protein are sourced from North America, and Dahl says they can trace them to the exact zip code of the farm growing them.

“There are no federal limits on heavy metals in protein powder or supplements, which Ritual sees as a huge opportunity to help make the category safer. We need consumers to push their favorite brands to be more transparent about heavy metal testing and openly share results and we also need policy that helps make the whole category safer,” Dahl adds. “Ritual has been lobbying in Washington asking for health protective heavy metal limits and you can join us by filling out this form to send an email to Congress. Navigating this complex market should not be on a pregnant woman or busy mom’s to-do list.”

Customer Review | “This protein shake has become my morning routine, I mix it with organic, no sugar added soy milk and it is a delicious way to start my day. I have energy and am not hungry right through lunch. I’ve tried other shakes that were lumpy and hard to mix, this one mixes super smooth, very easily. I highly recommend.” – Rebecca R. Victoria wanted an alternative to the “one-size-fits-all approach” — particularly after her daughter was born with a type of cleft lip associated with folic acid deficiency — and Alex felt overwhelmed and exhausted researching the best options on the market. They soon realized they weren’t the only moms-to-be experiencing these challenges, and they decided to partner with Victoria’s OBGYN Banafsheh Bayati, MD, FACOG, to “create vitamins that would adapt to support women through each unique stage of their hormonal journey.”

Our editors have personally tried dozens of non-alcoholic wines — these are my top picks for high-quality ingredients, taste, and functionality.

More and more of my friends are sober curious these days. It turns out you don’t have to be training for a marathon to find yourself wondering about the benefits of less alcohol. Perhaps you’ve had one too many hangovers, you’re trying to spend less money, you’re pregnant or nursing, or your interests have simply changed over time. Most likely, it’s some combination of these factors. Overall, people are trending towards prioritizing their wellness — and we’ll cheers to that! 🥂

Why consider non-alcoholic wine?

Studies say that rethinking your relationship with alcohol can have measurable health benefits like improving sleep quality, insulin sensitivity, and blood pressure numbers, along with helping you lose weight. Another study shows that light and moderate drinking can decrease your risk of depression.

Thankfully there a lots of non-alcoholic alternatives on the market now. And we’re so on board — drink rituals make winding down feel more special, and alcohol-free options give you that experience without the downsides. Non-alcoholic wines can even provide you with boosted health benefits due to the inclusion of functional ingredients. Above all, a correctly paired wine can elevate any moment, especially a fabulous meal or snack.

Our methodology & criteria:

The Good Trade was sent a number of non-alcoholic wines for review. I personally tasted and researched each brand, scouring hundreds of customer reviews. And let me tell you: My sober curious friends were thrilled to find out I’d have a ton of leftover NA wine they’d have to help me with. 😊

I sipped on these non-alcoholic wines to bring you my honest reviews.

The majority of brands included have a rosé so I compared those to even the playing field, but I also took into account the other options offered too. The criteria for my picks fall into the below categories, and we will continue to update this list with emerging favorites that meet these standards.

 • TASTE | I considered how close each alternative tasted to actual wine, along with how sweet they tasted, and the complexity of the flavor profile.
 • INGREDIENTS | High-quality ingredients that are traceable and organic are so important to us, which is why all of these brands have transparent ingredient lists.
 • FUNCTIONALITY | Many of the beverages have added functional ingredients like adaptogens to enhance the experience — you’ll find more details about that in the reviews below.

If you prefer beer or cocktails, check out our guide to the best non-alcoholic brews or our favorite non-alcoholic drink alternatives.

1. Proxies

Vegan

Best For | Flavor complexity
Price | $159/6-pack
ABV | <0.5%
Sugar | 7 – 11g

Proxies, non-alcoholic wine alternatives, are beloved by chefs and sommeliers for their complexity and food pairing ability. This one came out on top for me because it wasn’t pretending to be wine, but it was still deliciously complex without tasting overpowering. I loved the brand’s Shuru, an aromatic sparkling rosé — it smelled like floral iced tea but had fruity and savory notes. I also tested their Blanc Slate and Red Ember, both punchy and flavorful without the sugar or alcohol. It’s no wonder the brand’s been featured in publications like Bon Appetit and Wine Enthusiast.

Note that like kombucha and some foods containing vanilla extract, Proxies contain trace amounts of alcohol (less than .5%). If you’re looking for a 0.0% ABV option, scroll on!

Customer Review | “Compared to the competition, this is definitely 5 Star. It has much more complexity and depth of flavor than the non-alcohol wines, we’ve tried. Maybe non-alcoholic “wines” of the future, might be just as enjoyable as drinking wine without being wine.” – Sandra W. (Read more reviews.)

2. Töst

Best For | Affordability
Price | $18/2-pack
ABV | 0.0%
Sugar | 10 – 11g

The most budget-friendly option on this list, Töst sparkling refreshers still pack tons of flavor. The alcohol-free beverage comes in two iterations: The flagship is citrusy and crisply dry, while the rosé has a fruitier, slightly sweeter finish with hints of ginger and elderberry. Their beverages come in 750-milliliter bottles along with two-, six-, and twelve-packs of singles, making these tasty, easy-to-drink refreshers a perfect way to dip your toes into the NA wine world at an approachable price point. And it’s accessible, sold at stores like Walmart and other local markets and wine shops.

Customer Review | “Friends came over for cocktails and brought a bottle of Tost rosé. Was excellent! Have been experimenting with nonalcoholic drinks, and this is the best to date. I’m ordering some immediately.” – Ric G. (Read more reviews.)

3. NON

Gluten free
Vegan

Best For | Freshly sourced ingredients
Price | $140/6-pack
ABV | 0.0%
Sugar | 4g – 8g

NON’s wine alternatives are so chic, you’ll feel like you’re sipping at a hip new natural wine bar — without the alcohol, of course. Non makes five different flavors that roughly resemble whites, rosés, and reds, but they’re not made to taste exactly like wine. Instead, they’re all made from start to finish at Non’s Australian facility, using fresh produce, sourced directly from farmers, and verjus, the juice of unripened grapes, which adds balance, body, and acidity. I loved the Salted Raspberry & Chamomile, which was honey-ish, savory, herbal, and delicately fruity. I also appreciated how up front the brand was with flavors — each bottle indicates acidity, tannin level, and sweetness, along with perfect pairings.

Customer Review |“My absolute favourite NON! This tastes great with any food and the blush colour from the Raspberries elevates the drinking experience. I love that the NON drinks have no added sugar, colours or artificial flavours.” – C.M. (Read more reviews.)

4. Oddbird

Gluten free
Subscriptions available
Vegan

Best For | Organic non-alcoholic wines
Price | $100/5-pack
ABV | <0.5%
Sugar | 4g – 16g

For a special occasion, popping open a bottle of Oddbird’s dealcoholized wine is the perfect choice. The Swedish brand focuses heavily on sourcing traditionally-made wines from vineyards across the globe, ensuring each batch is aged for 12 months before carefully removing the alcohol. What’s left is a high quality selection of complex, flavor-packed wines without the intoxicating effects of alcohol. Both of Oddbird’s Blanc de Blancs Non-Alcoholic Sparkling White Wine and Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Rosé are great choices, with the first offering bright tasting notes of green apple, mango, meyer lemon, and pear, and the latter offering a lovely balance of dry and sweet through the flavors of rose petal, bing cherry, and soursop. Cheers to that!

Customer Review | “Is there anything better than Odd Bird these days? The Rosé and Blanc de Blancs are the perfect bubbly for any occasion and my personal favorites. Both are rich and complex with flavors anyone can enjoy!” – Chelsea M. (Read more reviews.)

5. Noughty

B corp
Subscriptions available
Vegan
Woman owned

Best For | Tastes like wine, certified organic
Price | $102/5-pack
ABV | 0.0% – 0.5%
Sugar | 3g – 6g

Rather than a wine alternative, like most options on this list, Noughty is a true dealcoholized wine, so it tastes just like the real thing but with no hangover. Each of its offerings — a white, rosé, and red, plus a sparkling wine and a sparkling rosé — has been dealcoholized to 0.5% ABV or less. I like the rosé, the flavor profile of which was subtler than the punchier flavors you often find in wine alternatives — because it’s real wine! The B Corp was founded by Amanda Thomson, called one of the “coolest people in food and drink” by Business Insider.

Customer Review | “Served it at my wedding and my guests loved it’” – Wesley O. (Read more reviews.)

6. Saint Viviana

American made
Gluten free

Vegan

Best For | Low sugar
Price | $44/2-pack
ABV | <0.5%
Sugar | 1g – 2g (0g added sugar)

Ditch the sugar without sacrificing flavor with Saint Viviana’s collection of premium non-alcoholic wines. Made from winemakers and sommeliers in California and the Pacific Northwest, minimal ingredients are used when crafting these low sugar, low calorie NA wines. If you’re on the hunt for medium-bodied cab with hints of plum and vanilla, Saint Viviana’s Cabernet Sauvignon will be your go-to. For those interested in a more fresher and light taste, the Sauvignon Blanc brings lively grapefruit, melon, and lemongrass blend that pairs perfect with charcuterie. Yum!

Customer Review | “I’ve been trying to like a red zero proof wine for years– and have been disappointed until now. The red Saint Viviana is as close to perfect a zero proof wine can come. The white Saint Viviana shines with vitality and can easily be passed off as the real thing. Thanks Zero Proof for making my dry January possible!” – Laura S. (Read more reviews.)

7. Society De La Rassi

Gluten free
Small business
Vegan

Best For | Champagne alternative
Price | $59/bottle
ABV | 0.5%
Sugar | 1.2 g (0g added sugar)

For a luxurious non-alc wine experience, I suggest picking up a bottle of Society De La Rassi’s Neue Brut Vintage 2023 Sparkling Chardonnay. Favored by the folks at USA Today and Forbes, the packaging of this drink offers “Old-World Elegance,” and what’s inside the bottle is even better. Both crisp yet full of body, this non-alcoholic wine has undergone a unique distillation process to achieve its harmonious taste of minerality and acidity. The grapes are also cultivated sustainably and organically from a single fifth-generation vineyard in Alcázar de San Juan, Spain, and are non-GMO. For birthdays, celebrations, or even a night-in, this zero-proof bubbly is a treat for those special moments.

Our Editor’s Review | “I split a bottle with my pregnant sister for New Year’s Eve, and she was so surprised by how authentic and yummy this tasted! From the elegant bottle to the crisp bubbles, it’s the perfect NA alternative to champagne for parties, dinners, or celebrations.” – Kayti Christian, Senior Content Strategist at The Good Trade

Vegan

Best For | Single serving bottles
Price | Starting at $36/8-pack
ABV | 0.0 – 0.5%
Sugar | 8 – 13g (0g added sugar)

Another beverage reminiscent of real wine, Grüvi’s alcohol-free wines come in convenient ten-ounce bottles with twist-off caps, so while the dry secco pairs well with charcuterie and creamy pasta, it’s just as nice (and convenient) poolside or by the beach. I also tried out the rosé, a bubbly rosé replica that’s crisp, fruity, and acidic. Note that all of the brand’s alcohol-free wine’s sugar is naturally occurring — it’s what would’ve turned into alcohol had the drink fermented. You can also choose from two award-winning alcohol-removed bevvies: A dry red blend and a sangria. And check out their award-winning non-alcoholic beers, too!

Customer Review | “Great taste – I had mine over ice with a tiny splash of club soda and a squeeze of lime and it was the perfect summer drink. Will definitely buy again.” – Stacey A.M. (Read more reviews.)

9. Tomorrow Cellars

Handcrafted

Best For | Aged alcohol-removed wines

These bottles start as actual wine and are crafted in California using traditional winemaking techniques, before having the alcohol gently removed. The result is delicious NA wines that taste closer to the real thing than most NA options out there. The lineup includes a crisp Rhône Blanc, a celebratory sparkling Blanc de Rhône, and a rich, full-bodied Red Blend, so there’s something for every mood, meal, and moment. We’re eyeing their Dry January Essentials Pack, which includes a taste of each of their award-winning options. 👀

The post 13 Natural Electrolyte Powders For Clean Hydration (2026) appeared first on The Good Trade.

The Good Trade editors endorse products we’ve personally researched, tested, and genuinely love. Learn more about our methodology and business model here.

I’ve researched and tried dozens of the best electrolyte powders. Here are notes on my favorites with clean and organic ingredients with delicious low/no sugar formulations.

If you’ve ever had Gatorade or seen an ad for Pedialyte, you’ve probably heard of the term “electrolytes.” But what is this stuff, and are some formulas better than others?

Electrolytes — per the Cleveland Clinic — are “substances that have a natural electrical charge when dissolved in water,” and help our bodies function at optimal levels. Electrolytes help your body stay hydrated by balancing fluid levels inside and outside your cells. They support everything from muscle contractions and nerve signaling to maintaining your body’s pH balance. When you sweat, exercise, or even sleep, you lose electrolytes that need to be replenished to avoid symptoms like fatigue, cramps, or dizziness.

What is the science behind electrolytes and hydration support for different stages of life?

While water is vital, electrolytes help your body actually retain and use that water efficiently — making them a key player in staying hydrated at every age.

Hydration needs can shift throughout different stages of life. Kids and teens may need more fluids during growth spurts or sports, while older adults often experience a reduced sense of thirst and may need a little extra help staying hydrated. If you’re pregnant, your fluid needs increase significantly to support the growing baby, regulate amniotic fluid, and keep blood volume up. Electrolyte-rich drinks (especially ones low in sugar) can be a smart way to stay energized and reduce common symptoms like nausea or headaches. Whether you’re navigating puberty, parenthood, or simply trying to age well, hydration with electrolyte support helps your body function at its best.

Why should you consider natural electrolytes?

Unfortunately, many formulas made for electrolytes are also filled with additives, preservatives, or too much sugar. So while you may feel more hydrated, you may also feel some adverse effects later on. The good news is that you can find electrolytes in many natural foods and formulas, like potatoes (potassium), dill pickles (sodium), pumpkin seeds (magnesium), coconut water (sodium, potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus) and natural electrolyte powders. Natural electrolytes can be more beneficial as you’ll receive a balanced variety of essential minerals at higher absorption rates, and without the chemical additives.

What are the five essential electrolytes?

Whether you’re working out, recovering from illness, or just trying to stay energized, maintaining proper levels of these electrolytes is key to feeling your best.

 • Sodium: Helps regulate fluid balance and supports nerve and muscle function.
 • Potassium: Crucial for muscle contractions, including your heartbeat, and maintaining proper cell function.
 • Magnesium: Supports muscle relaxation, energy production, and nerve health.
 • Calcium: Important for bone strength, nerve signaling, and muscle movement.
 • Chloride: Works closely with sodium to maintain fluid balance and stomach acid production.

Together, these electrolytes ensure that your body stays hydrated and your systems function smoothly — especially when life gets active or unpredictable.

Our criteria:

For this guide, The Good Trade’s editors have selected the best clean and organic electrolyte powders with low or no sugar based on years of research, testing, and corresponding with brands. I personally tested their top selections and made notes on taste and mineral composition. I also tested each brand by stirring one serving of electrolytes into 20oz of filtered water. Read on to see how to consume each of these in the most enjoyable way possible, and to find which one is right for you based on your taste, nutritional needs, and preferences. We will continue to update this guide based on the following criteria.

 • CLEAN INGREDIENTS | We’ve combed through each ingredient in these electrolyte powders to ensure only natural and beneficial ingredients are listed.
 • LOW OR NO SUGAR | Each electrolyte powder contains low or no sugar, and is either unsweetened or uses natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit for flavor.
 • TASTE | We’ve researched and tested these electrolyte powder mixes and can confirm they taste great and are enjoyable to drink! 🍹

Staying hydrated while being active is essential to keeping electrolyte levels in check, which is why we always keep one of these reusable water bottles on deck! Our Editor ReviewMoon Juice’s hydration support is light, fresh, and subtle – I tried the Pomelo flavor and it compares well to Needed’s grapefruit flavor in taste, composition and function. I’m a sucker for beautiful branding and Moon Juice does not miss. This is a fantastic option for someone who prefers minimal flavor, is prioritizing their minerals, wants to avoid single use packaging and opt for a glass container. Our Editor Review | Seeking Health is the first brand I’ve seen that’s formula is designed to address specific dietary sensitivities such as histamine intolerance. It has a stronger, berry flavor, a subtly fizzy texture, and dissolves quickly into water–faster than others that had about the same amount of powder. The brand encourages intermittent dosing to ensure stable nutrient levels, and provides extensive guidance for any symptoms that occur while taking it, which is incredibly helpful when seeking out a new supplement.

Co-founded by David Beckham, IM8 Daily Ultimate Essentials is a powerhouse all-in-one supplement designed to replace up to 16 daily supplements with just one scoop. With ingredients like CoQ10 for heart health, MSM and turmeric for joints, and a complete blend of pre-, pro-, and postbiotics for gut health, it’s truly comprehensive. Just mix one scoop (about 1 tablespoon) with 8–12 oz of water, juice, or a smoothie, shake well, and enjoy the subtly tart açaí and mixed berries flavor — hydration and full-body support never tasted so good!

Our Editor Review | IM8 is designed to provide full-spectrum nutritional support, addressing gut health, immunity, and cognition as well as hydration and cellular renewal. The acai flavor is pleasant and more tart than sweet. This formula takes a bit longer to dissolve due to the volume (1 tbsp) in a single serving, so I recommend combining it with ice and giving it a shake every so often after initially stirring it into water!

Our Editor Review | Thorne’s hydration support is NSF Certified for Sport, meaning it’s been rigorously tested for quality, safety, and banned substances. It has a stronger flavor and is more akin to the taste of a classic sports drink, making this a great swap for those who are used to conventional sports drinks. Best For | High-intensity training or activities
Sodium | 1000mg
Sugar | 0g

Pregnancy Safe | Not explicitly stated, consult your physician

LMNT’s co-founder Robb Wolf found that salt was the one thing he needed in his workout regimen and couldn’t find in the mainstream. The other competitors were “too high in sugar or lacking in actual electrolytes.” So, he created his own with his founding team, and now this electrolyte powder is loved by athletes and health leaders alike, from Dr. Andrew Huberman to Lance Armstrong to Nancy Chen. Made for everyone — including those on keto, low-carb, or paleo diets — there are a variety of drink mixes here in a number of fun flavors. Packed with sodium, magnesium, and potassium, you can have a pack first thing in the morning or right before exercising. Order a variety pack to try them all or subscribe for discounts!

Our Editor Review | LMNT’s watermelon salt flavor has been a long-time favorite of mine and its higher sodium level makes it ideal for higher intensity activities. This is the electrolyte our family reaches for ahead of a strenuous hike, backpacking trip or giving birth (me, ha!). It dissolves quickly and easily into water, and if my activity levels aren’t as strenuous, I’ll just use half of a serving and save the rest for the following day. Also, the taste is strong and salty! I recommend adding it to at least 24 oz of water and lots of ice.

With refreshing flavors like Lemonade, Berry Pomegranate, and Watermelon, plus a kid-friendly line for young hydrators, Cure makes it easy to feel your best every day. Just mix a packet with water, sip, and feel instantly replenished.

Our Editor Review | Cure’s blood orange flavor was among my favorites that I tried – ranking up there with GOODONYA and Perelel’s. It surprised me how delicious the flavors are without any added sugar, and the variety pack is fantastic for someone who loves a fun drink. The formula dissolves nicely into water, and would pair well with some ice and a squeeze of citrus for a nourishing mocktail. Cure knows that making healthy choices desirable (and tasty!) is key when building better habits, and this is my top recommendation for anyone who knows they’d be more successful at upping their hydration if they had a happy bevvie to make it happen!

Best For | Multiple formulas designed for specific types of recovery
Sodium | 550mg
Sugar | 0g
Dye-free | Yes
Pregnancy Safe | Yes

Whether you’re powering through a workout, recovering from a night out, or just trying to stay energized during your 9-to-5, Waterboy’s hydration lineup has your back. Their Daily Hydration sticks are perfect for everyday sipping, with a light watermelon flavor, clean formula, and rapid absorption (no weird floaty bits). For those rough Saturday mornings, Weekend Recovery kicks things up with a recovery blend that fights nausea, “hangxiety,” and fatigue — plus it packs three times the electrolytes of leading competitors. And for your training days, Workout Hydration helps boost endurance and squash soreness, keeping you hydrated and ready to go harder tomorrow. All options are sugar-free, non-GMO, and made in the USA, and available in fun flavors like blue raspberry and strawberry lemonade.

Our Editor Review | Whether you’re recovering from an intense workout, a late night out, or simply hope to meet your daily hydration goals, Waterboy uniquely offers three different formulas based on an individual’s specific needs. The formula dissolves easily into water, and the watermelon flavor is substantial, yet still light and refreshing. This is my top pick for teens, college students, and anyone who prefers to tailor their hydration experience a bit further.

A few more frequently asked questions:

Why are electrolytes salty?

Ever wondered why electrolyte drinks taste salty? That’s because many key electrolytes are actually types of salts. These minerals dissolve in water and help conduct electricity in your body, which is crucial for everything from muscle movement to brain function. Sodium, in particular, plays a big role in fluid balance, helping your body retain water and prevent dehydration. So when you sweat and lose salt, replenishing it with electrolytes helps restore your body’s natural balance. That slightly salty flavor? It’s just your body getting what it needs to power through the day.

Can you drink too many electrolytes?

Yes, it is possible to drink too many electrolytes — and more isn’t always better. While electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium are essential for hydration, nerve function, and muscle performance, consuming them in excess can throw your body off balance. Too much sodium, for instance, can lead to high blood pressure or bloating, while too much potassium may affect heart rhythm and cause chest pain. Your body usually does a great job regulating these minerals, but if you’re not losing a lot of fluids (from intense exercise, heat, or illness), overloading on electrolyte drinks could do more harm than good. The key? Stay hydrated and replenish thoughtfully — especially when your body really needs it.

When should I drink electrolytes? (And is it safe to have them daily?)

Electrolytes aren’t just for elite athletes or marathon runners — your body actually needs them every day to function properly. So when should you reach for an electrolyte drink? It’s especially important during or after sweating heavily — whether from exercise, hot weather, or illness (like a fever, vomiting, or diarrhea). They can also come in handy during pregnancy or breastfeeding, when hydration needs are naturally higher.

As for daily use: Yes, it’s generally safe for most people to consume electrolytes every day, especially if you’re active or on the go. The key is to choose formulas that aren’t overloaded with added sugars or sodium. If you’re eating a varied diet and not losing a lot of fluids, you may not need to supplement daily, but doing so in moderation can help keep your energy up, muscles functioning well, and hydration levels steady. Think of them as a smart way to support your body’s natural rhythms — just without overdoing it!

Should I drink electrolytes when I’m sick?

Yes! Drinking electrolytes when you’re sick can be a total game changer, especially if you’re dealing with symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, or fever that cause fluid loss. When you’re sick, your body loses not just water but also essential minerals like sodium, potassium, and magnesium that help your cells function properly. Electrolyte drinks can help you rehydrate faster and more effectively than plain water by restoring that balance. They’re particularly helpful for easing fatigue, preventing dehydration headaches, and supporting recovery. Just be mindful of the sugar content—look for clean, balanced formulas if you’re sipping them throughout the day. Whether you’re battling the flu or a stomach bug, replenishing your electrolytes can help you bounce back a little quicker.

We’ve researched and tested dozens of clean magnesium supplements — these are our top nine picks made with only the best ingredients for maximum benefit.

Did you know a large subset of the US population doesn’t get their recommended daily intake of magnesium? This is especially concerning since our bodies need magnesium to function. It’s required to produce energy, metabolize glucose, regulate stress, fortify bone health, support sleep and digestive health, and more. If you’re curious about the many correlations between magnesium and better health outcomes, you might find this research helpful. 🔍

According to the NIH, the average woman between 19 – 51 years old should have up to 320 mg of magnesium a day, and pregnant adult women can have up to 360 mg daily. Ideally, a well-balanced diet (with lots of leafy greens, nuts, whole grains, and beans) would help meet our magnesium needs, though supplements can help bridge the gap.

What are the benefits of magnesium?

Magnesium is like the unsung hero of your body — it helps with muscle function, relaxation, and energy production while keeping your nerves, heart, and bones in top shape. It can reduce stress, improve sleep, and even ease muscle cramps (hello, post-workout recovery!). Plus, it supports a healthy metabolism and balanced blood sugar levels, which is great for overall wellness. If you struggle with headaches, anxiety, or trouble sleeping, adding more magnesium to your diet — or taking a supplement — might make a big difference.

The difference between magnesium citrate, glycinate, malate, oxide, and gluconate:

First, there are many forms of magnesium out there with various nuances, so here are the most common ones:

 • Magnesium oxide (MO) is the most common form of magnesium supplements, but it’s not as bioavailable as other forms. Because of that, MO sometimes leads to diarrhea and other negative digestive issues. Similarly, magnesium gluconate, which has gluconic acid, can act as a laxative and get rid of constipation.
 • Magnesium citrate is more bioavailable than MO with fewer side effects, so it’s beneficial for health issues like high blood sugar, high blood pressure, and anxiety.
 • Magnesium glycinate is highly bioavailable, as you’ll see in many of the products listed below. It’s well-absorbed so there aren’t many negative side effects, and it’s particularly useful for reducing stress and supportive, restorative sleep.
 • Magnesium malate combines magnesium, with malic acid, a naturally occurring compound, and it’s gentle on stomachs.

You’ll want to find the right form of magnesium based on your needs, and as always, we recommend speaking with your doctor before starting any supplements especially if you have preexisting conditions or take other medications. There is such a thing as too much magnesium, and those side effects can include diarrhea, vomiting, mood problems, muscle weakness and spasms, and low blood sugar.

Our criteria:

We’ve researched and personally tried the best brands in the wellness space and have found the following supplements to be the most reliable and generally tolerated of the bunch. The selections below include options in both capsule and powder formulas, and address various issues like insomnia, anxiety, and digestive health. We update this list regularly with our emerging favorites that meet the following criteria:

 • HIGH-QUALITY INGREDIENTS | The brands below all use high-quality magnesium; most use highly bioavailable forms of magnesium (or multiple forms) from natural sources. Formulas are vegetarian, vegan, non-GMO, and mostly sugar-free.
 • TRUSTED BRANDS | The seven brands below are highly reputable, leverage clinical research to inform their practices, and test formulas via third parties for efficacy and safety.
 • GI COMFORT | These supplements can help battle constipation, but all of the formulas below use forms of magnesium that are higher-absorbing and should not result in negative laxative effects.

Here are our favorite sober activities to do instead.

The post 99 Sober Activities To Enjoy Instead Of Drinking appeared first on The Good Trade.

]]>
Everywhere I turn, there’s a happy hour — or an innocuous “let’s grab a drink” text from a friend I haven’t seen in years. And of course, there’s the third space, which is regaining importance as many of us turn toward screen-free hobbies and activities. (My own third space happens to be the open-air brewery four blocks from my home.) While many of these spaces still center around drinking, we’re also seeing sober activities gain popularity — coffee parties, anyone?

This cultural shift reflects a growing awareness of alcohol’s impact on our bodies. According to a recent Gallup poll, only 54 percent of U.S. adults say they drink — the lowest rate in nearly a century.

More and more of us are evaluating our consumption thoughtfully and becoming intentional about how and when we drink. The reason doesn’t matter, and neither does the duration. Some people choose sobriety for life, while others move in and out of sober seasons over time.

Wherever you fall on the sobriety spectrum, here are some of my favorite ways to connect and unwind with 0 percent ABV. And if you’re new to a sober-curious lifestyle, you’ll love these non-alcoholic beverages and wine alternatives.

Psst! For a mindful way to start your day, subscribe to The Daily Good, a 30-second read delivered to your inbox each morning with sustainable recipes, podcasts, artists, articles, and more.🌿

First, an important note: Beyond habits, alcohol addiction is serious and has severe consequences for the communities it impacts. If you or someone you love is struggling, using alcohol to numb feelings regularly, or is regularly and negatively affected by drinking, seek out a local support group or call a hotline to find the best ways to help.

1. Establish a daily meditation or mindfulness habit — you can schedule it for moments when you are particularly craving a cold one.

2. Get good at crafting mocktails. You can make simple syrups (here is a simple one to start with), use your soda maker, and add beautiful garnishes for the full treatment. Here are some fun recipes to try out.

3. Go on a photo walk and see your neighborhood through a new lens. Bring a pal along and make it a social call.

4. Participate in a community cleanup and meet your neighbors. Here is a resource for our Los Angeles friends, but here is a handy guide to planning a cleanup no matter where you’re at.

5. Go camping, even if it’s only in your backyard (or on your patio, if it’s safe to do so). Hey — who says you can’t cook s’mores over a candle?

6. Kick back and read a collection of poetry, and allow yourself to read slowly and reflect on the experience and meaning of each poem.

7. Or if you’re feeling inspired, give writing your own poetry a try. It doesn’t have to be good — just try putting pen to paper and see what you discover!

8. Drop some eucalyptus oil in the diffuser, and give yourself a professional-grade facial at home (here’s how).

9. If you are out and about and find yourself at a bar, ask the bartender for soda water with lime. You’ll have an inconspicuous drink to sip on through the evening!

“Go camping, even if it’s only in your backyard (or on your patio, if it’s safe to do so).”

10. Go to your temple, church, or mosque. Or spend the evening at home in prayer. This does not have to be connected to a particular religious practice — quiet reflection and gratitude are universal. Learn more about creating a spiritual practice even if you aren’t religious.

11. Plan a trip, or make a moodboard for your dream vacation.

12. Break out an old game, book, or activity you enjoyed as a child (Pokémon or mini-golf, anyone?).

13. Give yourself the gift of having an event to look forward to, by browsing sites like Groupon. Schedule a spa day, class, or outing based on what deals you can find.

14. Start a Substack newsletter about a topic you’re passionate about. Spend your free time learning more about it so that you can share even more info!

15. Become a volunteer or a mentor for youths. (Psst — you can even volunteer online).

16. Sip on some of these non-alcoholic beverage alternatives instead.

17. Go to breakfast; if you can, snag takeout from your favorite local diner and set up a brunch picnic in the nearest park. This’ll have you awake and walking first thing — just not the “walk of shame.” 😂

18. Or, host brunch at your home with elaborate fixings. You can make a waffle bar, offer fresh-squeezed orange juice, and finally break out that good coffee you’ve been holding on to (better to share with friends, no?).

19. Or, skip the food altogether and host a coffee or tea cupping. Invite your guests to bring their favorites and discuss the experience together.

“Do a mental health check in. How are you, really?”

20. Do a mental health check in. How are you, really? Write it out or talk it out with a friend (or your voice memos app).

21. Go to a playground and rediscover your favorite youthful pastimes like swinging and hanging on the monkey bars (just don’t steal the slide from the kiddos, okay?).

22. Keep a basket for garments that could use a little TLC. Instead of sipping on a boozy beverage while you watch your favorite show, give them a new life by darning them.

23. Or, make something new by picking up a stress-relieving fiber-based art — whether that’s sewing your own clothes, crocheting, embroidery or otherwise.

24. Make body butter or other zero waste toiletries.

25. Spend time pampering yourself in private. (These sex toys are a fun addition!)

26. Pack some hot cocoa and catch a sunset at the highest point in town.

27. Explore your family tree by contacting your family members to preserve their stories or via Ancestry.com.

28. Get inspired to live minimally by joining me in my love for the Never Too Small channel on YouTube.

29. Start a scrapbook and enjoy the walk down memory lane.

“Pack some hot cocoa and catch a sunset at the highest point in town.”

30. Have a bonfire (make sure it’s contained properly and check current fire regulations for your area first). Spend time with your loved ones — or just have a quiet evening alone.

31. Start learning a new language with one of these apps.

32. Go through your clothes and have a fashion show for yourself — what still fits? Which pieces suit your lifestyle? Only keep the pieces you love and resell or donate the garments that still have life left.

33. Set up a still life or find a beautiful location for inspiration, and dive into watercolor painting.

34. Need a little metaphor for picking up scattered pieces right now? Give puzzles a go.

35. Brush up on your basic survival skills and create preparedness plans for any emergencies in your area.

36. Get to those home repairs and projects that have been on your list for a while. (I’m looking at you, half-assembled TV stand.)

37. Follow a makeup tutorial online. (Seriously, someone please teach me how to use eyeliner.)

38. Take archery lessons and head to an archery range to practice what you’ve learned.

39. Get on a bike! It makes everyday local errands much more fun and fruitful, plus it’ll cut down on your gas usage.

40. Call your parent or grandparent, cousin, aunt, nephew — you get it. Get in touch with your family (chosen family works too!), and ask them how they’re feeling right now.

“Set up a still life or find a beautiful location for inspiration, and dive into watercolor painting.”

41. Or, write a letter to a dear friend who hasn’t heard from you in a while.

42. If you’re forgoing the price of drinks, why not order yourself an appetizer with your next takeout? Or better yet, get dessert. 🍰

43. Host a craft night. This is something you can do solo or with friends (even virtually!), and what you make is up to you. Giving yourself something to do with your hands is a helpful deterrent for habitual sipping.

44. Have you misplaced the hot glue gun, or just plain not into crafting? Grab some supplies for an at-home manicure and pamper yourself a bit.

45. Have a music sharing party. Ask for contributions to a Spotify playlist and spend an evening listening and sharing what’s on your heavy rotation.

46. Attend a sound bath, or listen to one virtually.

47. Set yourself up for an evening of reaching out to your elected officials, signing petitions, and advocating with others in your community (remember those high school classes that could have been improved? Reach out to your former principal!).

48. You can always write gratitude notes to your local officials as well. (Yes, even to that same former principal!)

49. Light a candle, then make your own candles! Repeat indefinitely. 🕯️

50. Explore a new area of town and meet folks through Meetup’s sober activities in your city.

51. Take up gardening, whether it’s in a little window herb planter or a full-on indoor vertical garden

52. DIY a little punch-needle rug for your bathroom, bedroom, or kitchen — tutorial here.

53. Explore your surroundings in a surprising new way by going geocaching or becoming a Randonaut.

54. Clear out your inbox. Delete what you don’t need, file what you do, and unsubscribe to everything you’re not finding useful. While it may not sound fun, it has mental wellness benefits

55. Do an exercise outside of your usual movement routine; try out yoga, dance in the kitchen, or do slow and steady hill repeats

56. Take an afternoon nap! Bonus points if you have a person, pet, or cozy blanket to snuggle up with.

57. Video chat with someone in a different time zone than you. Have a friend or family member overseas? Stay up late or plan to wake up super early to chat with them and catch up.

58. Get your game face on and host a board game night. Don’t be afraid to try a new game. (These are some of my favorites, and Catan is always a winner, too!)

59. Do yourself a favor by prepping the chopping, marinating, and pureeing for all of the meals you will eat next week. Pop some dry beans into the crockpot while you’re at it — you’ll thank yourself later!

“Get your game face on and host a board game night.”

60. Or, cut down your food waste and toss your veggie scraps and ends into the freezer, then make a stock! Let ‘er simmer all day long and enjoy the aromas that come with it.

61. Play trivia with your friends or family — or just listen to a podcast like Triviality for casual and less competitive trivia.

62. Take a creative writing workshop, or organize a writing group of your own. Communicating about each other’s work and facilitating feedback are excellent skills to practice. If you’re not sure where to start, check out these writing prompts.

63. Plan a date night around cooking a new dish together. It can be as elaborate as you’d like — just put on your favorite playlist and enjoy doing something tactile with the person you love.

64. If you’re not feeling date night, bake yourself a loaf of bread. There’s nothing more satisfying than hand-kneading a gooey dough, smelling the yeast as it rises, and eating a slice of bread you made from scratch.

65. Take your sweet tooth to the next level by making candy at home. Toffee, truffles, and fudge, oh my!

66. Go to the library and browse for something new. If your local branches don’t stay open into the evenings, snag a book you’ve been meaning to read and head to a café or park with ample seating.

67. Or, support a local bookstore and peruse the aisles. Be sure to ask the staff for their favorites!

68. Take in some art and wander the halls of the closest art museum. Museums may be open into the evenings, or you may be able to find virtual versions of interesting exhibits.

69. Share an evening of massages with your partner. If you’re flying solo, you can always do a self-massage

“Take in some art and wander the halls of the closest art museum.”

70. Go bowling. It’s a stimulating, challenging, and competitive way to spend a weekend night. You can even join a league for a social outlet. Not your style? Maybe lace up and go roller skating instead.

71. Create a vision board. How often does a social night out get in the way of your grounding routines? If you’re an introvert like me, spending a couple of hours alone can help recharge and reset you on the path towards your goals.

72. Go down the YouTube rabbit hole. Catch up on late-night comedy, follow along with someone’s daily life, or even get involved as a vlogger. Why not?

73. Host a clothing swap. Here are some tips on how to do it.

74. Host your own painting night. Have everyone chip in a few bucks and snag some canvases and paints from a local craft store. Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks top it all off.

75. Whether it’s old-school Nintendo or a new-age VR headset, break out the controller and get gaming. This is a great hobby to do solo, or hop online and connect with friends and new people! Here are some game suggestions for mindful play.

76. Take yourself to dinner and a movie, and enjoy your own company for an evening. (It’s more fun than it sounds.)

77. Catch a game from a local sports team, whether it’s a high school team, college athletes, or an intramural league. You might even end up joining them next season!

78. Or craft an elaborate snacking spread full of your favorite fruits and cheeses (if that’s your thing) and watch a game at home with your friends.

79. Look for jazz cafés, open mic nights, or community bands playing. Many cities and towns will have live music in public spaces, especially during the warmer months.

“Look for jazz cafés, open mic nights, or community bands playing.”

80. Go to a late-night yoga or fitness class, or take one virtually. It can be a pain when all you want to do is veg out on the couch, but you’ll sleep soundly and wake up feeling refreshed.

81. Borrow a shelter pup for the afternoon and take them on a walk. (Ask your local shelter if they do this.) Or if you have the time, space, and energy, foster a pet in need.

82. Have some spare shipping boxes that haven’t gone out to recycling yet? Make a castle for your pets, or just have fun improvising a cardboard creation.

83. Dye your hair or try cutting it at home. (It’s not so scary, I promise — but it’s also great to trust a professional!)

84. Create care packages to send to seniors or folks in need in your community.

85. Put together a playlist, turn on a disco light, and grab your dancing shoes. Yep — it’s a dance party at home! You can even take dance classes online.

86. Try your hand at tie-dyeing or freshen up an old t-shirt with this guide to DIY natural dyes

87. Give birdwatching a go. 🐦 👀

88. Extend your to-read list using this website or by exploring glowing reviews on Goodreads. You can even sign up for a book subscription service and let someone else curate your list for you.

89. Then start a book club, whether in-person or virtually and discuss your favorites with a group of your peers.

90. Find a local chapter of Toastmasters and confront your fear of public speaking (or fine-tune your already-fabulous skill!).

“Put together a playlist, turn on a disco light, and grab your dancing shoes. Yep — it’s a dance party at home!”

91. Paint a room in your home a color you’ve always been nervous to try out — if it doesn’t work, you can paint it back. (Or try one of these peel-and-stick wallpapers instead.)

92. Take a factory tour of a local production business. (Strangely, touring a pickle factory has been one of my favorite adventures with my family.)

93. Have a pizza-making party. Let your friends and family each toss their own crust and add their toppings of choice. You can also make the dough from scratch, though we don’t have to be overachievers. 😉

94. Read and subscribe to a magazine in your field of interest — you may even be able to find ‘zines made by members from your community at the local bookstore.

95. Lace up your hiking boots, whether you’re going with a group or for a solo hike, and find scenic trails near you for a good ol’ afternoon hike.

96. Then learn how to forage safely, sustainably, and successfully. Teach others to do it as well!

97. Join a sober group on Reddit or Facebook, if that’s your jam. This may take some careful vetting to find one that works best for you.

98. Whether it’s a guitar, piano, or that old recorder you had in fourth grade, pick up a musical instrument and a beginners book. (You can find lots of instruments secondhand online.) You may be bad at first, but you’ll get better. Toot, toot!

99. Go. To. Bed. Early. Tuck yourself in earlier than normal and wake up feeling fresh and being fully rested at your own pace. If you want extra motivation to get to sleep, plan an early morning meetup with a friend.

10 Best Clean Collagen Powders (2026) https://www.thegoodtrade.com/features/clean-collagen-powders/ https://www.thegoodtrade.com/features/clean-collagen-powders/#comments Thu, 08 Jan 2026 18:05:07 +0000 Collagen supplements help support healthy skin, nails, hair, and joints. Here are nine of our favorite clean collagen powders, either sustainably sourced or made with vegan ingredients.

The Good Trade editors endorse products we’ve personally researched, tested, and genuinely love. Learn more about our methodology and business model here.

We’ve researched and tested the top clean supplements — these are the cleanest collagen powders we’ve found with organic ingredients, third-party testing, and functional additives that are easy to digest.

We’ve often heard of collagen for our health and beauty routines, but what actually is it? Collagen is the protein that supports our skin, bones, cartilage, and even our hair and nails. We lose our body’s natural collagen as we age, starting in our mid 20s.

Enter collagen supplements. Some collagen comes from bovines, fish, and seafood, while others are vegan powder alternatives (not actual collagen, but supplements) that boost our natural collagen production.

What are the benefits of collagen?

Adding collagen to our daily routine offers a myriad of benefits for full body health. Collagen is an essential protein for maintaining skin hydration, elasticity, and helping strengthen and grow our hair and nails. It also is a key component of joint and bone health, helping support bone strength and structure, and reducing joint stiffness and pain. Collagen can even help boost muscle mass and strength! It’s a supplement that’s great to incorporate if you deal with gut issues, as collagen can help repair the gastrointestinal lining for better digestion. With all these benefits and more, collagen supplements are an easy way to help improve our collagen production.

What should you look for in a collagen powder?

There are a couple of things to consider before purchasing a collagen supplement. Check to see if the collagen supplement you’re interested in is hydrolyzed (also called collagen peptides); this means the collagen is broken down into smaller particles making it easier for your body to absorb. The ingredient list of the collagen powder should also be free of unnecessary fillers, artificial flavors, or sweeteners. It’s also a bonus if it’s sourced from grass-fed, pasture-raised, or wild-caught animals for a cleaner, higher quality product. If you’re looking for additional benefits, some powders include extras like vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, or probiotics to boost absorption and overall skin, joint, or gut health. Lastly, opt for a brand that’s transparent about testing and certifications to ensure you’re getting a safe, effective product.

We’d like to also note the recent findings about deforestation that are linked to the increase in popularity for collagen in supplements and beauty products. Brands such as WelleCo and just björn use collagen that’s sustainably sourced from wild-caught fish skin, while vegan brands like GOLDE offer great sustainable options. Whichever you prefer, there are clean collagen options out there for you!

Our criteria:

We’ve researched, tested, and corresponded with the best brands making clean collagen powders. After vetting thousands of customer reviews, we’ve selected our favorites that are organic, third-party tested, and contain additional functional ingredients, too. We revisit this list to add emerging favorites that meet the following criteria:

 • CLEAN INGREDIENTS | Each of these collagen powders is ethically sourced and comes from grass-fed bovines and sustainably-sourced fish, with vegan and organic whole food options in the mix.
 • THIRD-PARTY TESTED | These brands all perform third-party testing to ensure you’re not getting any harmful or unnecessary additives.
 • FUNCTIONAL ADD-ONS | Many of the options on this list include additional ingredients like hyaluronic acid and vitamin C to further support skin health.
 • DIGESTIBILITY | You’ll see options that include digestive enzymes, l-glutamine, and other other gut boosting benefits for sensitive stomachs and better absorption.

Whether you add it to your morning coffee or afternoon smoothie, your body will love this healthy diet addition. For even more supplements to nourish your skin from within, check out our favorite clean probiotics, fiber supplements, and multivitamins.
